    Warm, safe, homey assisted living

I moved my mom here and couldn't be happier - the staff are genuinely warm, attentive, and treat residents like family, with caring nurses and caregivers and responsive, supportive management. The community feels clean, safe and easy to navigate (one level), the meals are great, activities are abundant, and the cozy common areas and peaceful courtyard give us real peace of mind. I'd recommend this welcoming, homey place.

    Summary of reviews

Charter Senior Living of Franklin presents as a small, single-story assisted living community with a strong emphasis on personalized, relationship-based care. Reviewers consistently describe the staff as compassionate and attentive — from nursing and medication support to residential assistants and maintenance personnel. Onsite leadership is frequently characterized as hands-on and accessible, which appears to support coordinated clinical oversight and frequent family communication. The facility’s small size and single-level footprint are repeatedly cited as important contributors to a home-like atmosphere and easy navigation for residents.

Care quality and clinical support are generally portrayed positively. Nursing staff are described as skilled in medication management and routine health checks, with several accounts noting thoughtful assessment and responsive follow-up. Families often report peace of mind regarding safety checks and individualized assistance with activities of daily living. At the same time, some reviewers highlighted episodic staffing variability (including occasional weekend shortfalls) that can affect perceived continuity of care.

Dining and activities are notable strengths of the community. Many residents and visitors praised the menus, family-style dining, and a full calendar of social offerings — arts and crafts, exercise classes, outings, therapy-dog visits, and occasional special programming. The activities team is frequently commended for engagement and variety. That said, reviewers also described inconsistent meal quality in some instances, ranging from positive dining experiences to specific complaints about certain menu items and food preparation, suggesting variability in culinary execution.

The physical environment combines pleasant outdoor amenities and functional interior spaces. The property’s courtyard, garden and porch areas (including resident ducks) are points of pride and provide meaningful outdoor access. Common areas are described as bright and clean, and apartments are generally characterized as comfortable and ready for personalization. However, several comments point to cosmetic wear in hallways or rooms and periodic building maintenance issues (cable and water incidents were mentioned), indicating that some building elements are aging and require ongoing attention.

Management and operations show strengths in transparent admissions, clear pricing structures, and accessible leadership. Communication tools and daily update apps receive positive mention for keeping families informed. Areas for operational improvement that appear across reviews include more consistent staffing coverage, clearer follow-through on some maintenance items, and broader availability of larger or deluxe apartment configurations. Finally, the facility does not offer a dedicated memory-care unit, which may be a limiting factor for residents who anticipate progression to higher-level dementia services.

Overall, Charter Senior Living of Franklin is portrayed as a warm, community-oriented assisted living option with strong interpersonal care, active programming, and practical amenities. Prospective residents and families should weigh the benefits of the intimate, single-level setting and engaged staff against considerations such as occasional service variability, the physical condition of some interior spaces, apartment-type availability, and the absence of on-campus memory-care services.

About Charter Senior Living of Franklin

Charter Senior Living of Franklin sits quietly at 105 Sunrise Circle in Franklin, TN, where you'll find a senior community with plenty of choices for how folks want to live as they grow older, and the place pays close attention to what each person needs, whether that means independent living with fewer worries, assisted living with help for daily chores like bathing or getting dressed, or memory care for those living with Alzheimer's or dementia, and even short-term stays if someone just needs care for a little while. The campus feels homey, with its rocking-chair front porches, a welcoming gazebo, lush gardens and water fountains, and inside you see common areas filled with plush chairs, big windows, and cozy living rooms where residents gather to chat or watch TV. There's always natural light streaming in through bright windows, and the bedrooms use warm colors, comfortable chairs and beds, and simple decorations so everyone feels at ease. The private bathrooms are made to be easy to use, with grab bars, granite vanities, and walk-in showers, while the apartments come in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options, all with individual climate control and kitchenettes that have a microwave, mini-fridge, and a few small touches to make it feel like home, like decorative canisters. For dining, folks eat in an elegant room with tables topped with linens and artwork on the walls, and meals are made to be nutritious and tasty, while the community also takes care of weekly housekeeping, laundry, bed-making, and general upkeep, so residents can focus more on enjoying their days.

The daily schedule is full of activities and clubs, like fitness classes, bocce ball, continued education, storytelling, and trips into town to places like CoolSpring Galleria, Lane Motor Museum, or even Loretta Lynn's Ranch, not to mention crafts, social programs, and plenty of chances to make friends or connect with others, since visitors are welcome any time, day or night. The care team-called Charter caregivers-has years of experience and gives everyone a care plan that fits what they need and want, whether it's help with medications, moving around, or companionship, and the whole place is designed so folks stay as independent as possible while still feeling safe, thanks to things like grab bars, accessible apartments, a 24-hour call system, and doorbell entry after hours. Charter Senior Living of Franklin offers five different assisted living floor plans, all in a building that feels less like an institution and more like a true home with its single-story layout, vinyl floors, comfortable furniture, big closets, and homelike touches around every corner. Residents can keep pets, use the high-speed internet, and enjoy specialized programs for wellness, plus the community works to create real bonds, focusing on both senior well-being and even intergenerational connections, under the leadership of a family-owned company with a long track record in senior care. All the while, services from transportation to daily help aim to take the stress out of life for seniors, giving them more time and energy to do what makes them happy, all in an environment that balances privacy, safety, comfort, and a strong sense of belonging.
