    Warm attentive professional senior community

I moved my mom to Cedar Ridge and I'm very pleased - the staff are warm, professional and attentive, the facility is clean with lovely grounds, and the apartments are cozy and comfortable. The calendar is vibrant (bingo, crafts, outings, exercise), the food is thoughtful, management is supportive, and the community truly feels like family - I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Cedar Ridge by Bonaventure presents as a well-appointed senior living community with many strengths and some recurring operational concerns. The facility is consistently described as clean and attractive, with extensive, well-kept grounds, spacious apartment options (including kitchenettes or full kitchens), and a wide range of on-site amenities such as a pool, fitness room, salon, library, theater, and multiple social spaces. Many reviewers highlight a welcoming, family-like atmosphere and active, social programming that includes frequent activities, outings, bingo, theater events, and regular transportation for shopping and medical appointments.

Staff quality is a prominent positive theme: numerous reviews describe staff as compassionate, attentive, and knowledgeable, with strong one-on-one interactions and good maintenance responsiveness. Housekeeping and maintenance are often cited as strengths, and the community is noted for being pet-friendly and for offering restaurant-style dining with a salad bar and fresh produce choices. Tours and move-in experiences are frequently described as informative and accommodating, and the campus model of independent and assisted living flexibility is attractive to families who want continuity of care.

Despite these strengths, there are several recurring operational issues prospective residents and families should evaluate during a visit. Dining experiences are inconsistent across accounts: while some praise the food, salad bar, and chef involvement, others describe bland or repetitive menus, meal items running out, and service lapses. Staffing stability is another pattern—frequent turnover and intermittent staff shortages were reported, and some reviewers linked this to delays in care or reduced consistency in service. Communication gaps during clinical events or emergencies, and variability in management responsiveness and tone, are also cited; these concerns include delayed family notifications and uneven follow-through on administrative matters.

Other operational themes include variability in unit-level housekeeping and sanitation, occasional maintenance problems that are not uniformly resolved in a timely way, and some concerns about medication-administration timing and oversight. A few reviews raise serious administrative issues, including billing clarity and at least one allegation of mishandled funds that required external intervention; such items suggest that contract terms, upfront fees, and refund policies be reviewed carefully. Finally, families seeking secured memory-care services should confirm the facility’s capabilities and security features, as some accounts indicate that memory-care needs were not fully met on-site.

In summary, Cedar Ridge appears to offer a robust social environment, attractive facilities, and many engaged staff members, making it a strong option for residents who prioritize activities, community life, and campus amenities. Prospective residents and families should, however, perform focused due diligence on dining consistency, staffing stability, communication protocols, medication management, and financial-contract terms during an in-person visit and when reviewing paperwork to ensure the community aligns with their expectations and clinical needs.
