    Welcoming community with attentive care

I toured King's Manor and immediately felt welcomed. The long-tenured, genuinely caring staff and attentive management provide personalized, 24/7 clinical support (RN/LPN and med aides on site, in-room meds and pendant included), so my mom is safe and well cared for. Rooms are comfortable, clean and homey, meals and activities (exercise classes, music, crafts, outings) keep residents engaged, and services like transportation, hairdresser and weekly housekeeping are convenient. It's a well-run, faith-based community with low staff turnover - excellent value and real peace of mind for our family.

    Summary of reviews

King's Manor is consistently described as a small, faith-based nonprofit senior living community with a pronounced family atmosphere. A recurring theme is staff stability: caregivers are long-tenured, professional, and described as compassionate and respectful. That stability is paired with on-site clinical coverage (RNs/LPNs and med aides available around the clock in multiple accounts) and a proactive wellness director who coordinates medical needs, which supports families seeking continuity of care and a familiar caregiver team.

Dining and nutrition are frequently cited as strengths: the facility has a bright, spacious dining room and meals are often described as nicely presented and varied. Medicaid acceptance and cost/value are noted positively by many families, though a subset of comments indicates that meal satisfaction has been uneven at times, suggesting occasional inconsistencies in culinary quality or menu execution.

Activities and social programming are broad for the community size. Reviewers list Wii bowling, bingo, live music, ceramics, exercise classes, themed parties and scenic drives; an active activities director and regular entertainers are reported. Transportation to appointments and occasional outings is available. Because the building is small (about 69 rooms) programming emphasizes close-knit, sit-down and communal events; this supports residents who prefer social connection in a quieter setting but may be less appealing to those seeking a more vigorous, large-campus lifestyle.

The physical environment receives positive note for cleanliness, tasteful décor, holiday displays and a homey, bed-and-breakfast vibe. Common amenities include a crafts room, private dining room, courtyard/patio, on-site beauty shop, weekly housekeeping and laundry. At the same time, the facility’s smaller footprint produces limitations: apartment sizes are described as modest, two-bedroom units are not available, and outdoor walking/covered areas are limited, including limited shelter for smokers. Several families also indicated that the pricing can be higher relative to more minimal-service alternatives and that the bundled service model may not align with residents who require very little assistance.

Management and operations are generally portrayed positively: tours and move-in assistance are personalized, communication is described as clear, and long-tenured leadership and staff contribute to a stable culture. Notable patterns across comments include strong recommendations from families, expressions of gratitude for end-of-life and memory-support care, and a consistent emphasis on safety and peace of mind. Prospective residents and families should weigh the clear strengths in caregiving continuity, program variety, and a homey environment against structural constraints such as smaller unit sizes, limited outdoor/covered spaces, and periodic variability in meal satisfaction when deciding whether King's Manor matches their preferences and needs.

About King's Manor Senior Living Community

King's Manor Senior Living Community sits near local attractions, medical centers, doctors, and pharmacies, so residents don't have to travel far for what they need, and the facility offers a wide range of living options, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and aging-in-place services, so folks can stay even as their needs change over time. Meals come with choices for diabetic and low salt diets, and chefs sometimes cook with vegetables grown in the raised gardens residents can help tend, plus residents can eat either in the restaurant-style dining room, their apartments, or in a private dining room if sharing a meal with family or guests, and the staff serves meals and provides reminders for meals and daily activities. Staff can help with diabetic care, blood sugar checks, and reminders, though they don't give insulin shots, and they're ready to help incontinent residents with reminders and care. There's a nurse on site 40 hours per week, and nurses and awake staff are available 24 hours a day, with staff trained for two-person transfers for folks who need more help moving, and a Lifeline emergency pendant system in place.

The community has wheelchair-accessible showers, full tubs, and hospice services, plus a variety of floor plans, including studios and one- or two-bedroom apartments, and every apartment sits in a building with traditional décor and high ceilings. King's Manor allows pets, and folks can bring their companions along, and the community is both safe and clean, with updated fire detection and security systems for peace of mind. The staff helps with things like bathing, dressing, medication, and offers services, with regular health monitoring and individual care plans set up for each resident, which get updated as needed. Respite care is available, and the team uses bracelets and technology to help prevent wandering for people who need memory care, creating a secure environment for people with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, and staff can also remind residents to use the bathroom.

There's plenty to do every day with a full calendar of activities-exercise classes focused on core, strength, and balance; scheduled trips for shopping on Mondays and Fridays with an activity director; day trips to places like Sequim and the Olympic Peninsula or restaurant lunches out; games; arts and crafts; and big events like barbecues and car shows every year; the community has both indoor and outdoor common areas where residents can spend time together or relax, a courtyard that's carefully kept up, and beautiful resident-tended gardens; and outdoor smoking is allowed in designated areas. The facility has a library, game room, communal lounge, patio, and life enrichment activities designed to help residents keep moving, get to know each other, and make friends. There's an onsite beautician service, plus visiting specialists such as podiatrists, physical, occupational, and speech therapists.

Transportation is free, available on Tuesdays and Thursdays for doctor and health appointments, with extra scheduled rides for other outings, and residents can still use their own cars if they like, with parking available. Services are set up to help people remain as independent as possible, but with support when it's needed, letting folks adjust as their health changes, and the staff focuses on low and medium care levels, but the facility offers skilled care and help with memory care when it's required. Multilingual support in Japanese, Spanish, and German helps serve a diverse community. King's Manor belongs to the Lutheran Church of Christ the King, though it welcomes everyone, regardless of religious background, and the atmosphere aims for familial and supportive relationships, where the staff knows the residents well and treats them with respect and dignity. The team is managed by Senior Services of America, and they've kept long-tenured staff with low turnover, which helps with consistency and trust in care. Housekeeping, linen service, meals, amenities, and transportation are all included in the base rate, so it's easier for families to understand the costs up front. King's Manor has been verified by Seniorly and is a non-profit, community-focused organization dedicated to giving seniors a place to live comfortably and safely with the support they need, offering a homelike setting with both privacy and a chance to be part of a welcoming group.
