    Moved my mom, very pleased

I moved my mom into this bright, brand-new community and I'm very pleased. The staff are warm, attentive and go the extra mile, management is responsive, and the building is spotless and modern. There are tons of engaging activities (great activities team), nice amenities (salon, gym, outings, dog visits), tasty meals, and a convenient location. Mom has made friends, feels at home, and we have real peace of mind - I'd recommend it to other families.

    Summary of reviews

Talamore Senior Living Sun Prairie presents a mixed but instructive profile: the community is widely praised for its modern, attractive facility, abundant amenities, and an active, well-liked activities program. Many reviewers highlight compassionate, friendly staff members, a warm community atmosphere, and robust social opportunities such as music programs, veterans groups, dog visits, outings, and gardening. The physical plant—new construction, landscaped grounds, outdoor seating with barbecue and fire pit, salon, gym, and common spaces—receives consistent positive comment, as does the convenient location near shopping and medical services.

Care quality and staffing describe a more complex picture. Positive accounts include personalized nursing attention, proactive overnight aides, and good hospice coordination. However, reviewers also identify variability in caregiving from shift to shift and between units, and recurring concerns about overall staffing levels and turnover. Several families noted limited clinical coverage outside daytime hours and questioned the absence of a 24/7 on‑site registered nurse; linked operational issues included medication‑management communication gaps and at least one concern about emergency medication dosing. Prospective residents who require frequent clinical oversight should clarify current staffing and clinical protocols during a visit.

Dining and housekeeping receive mixed feedback. The community offers three meals daily and regular social dining events, and some families describe the food as delicious and varied. Conversely, others describe inconsistent food quality, menu substitutions, early cutoffs to full meal service, long waits, and what they characterize as a chaotic dietary operation at times. Ingredient and nutrition transparency (for example, use of sweetened beverages, condiment availability, and preprocessed entrées) was also raised. Housekeeping and sanitation practices appear inconsistent across reports: while weekly housekeeping is advertised and some reviewers noted improvements after move‑in, other accounts indicate lapses in laundry, dishwashing, and bathroom maintenance. These operational areas would benefit from direct questions about schedules and quality controls during tour discussions.

Activities, community life, and amenities are among Talamore’s strongest themes. Multiple reviewers praise an energetic activities team, frequent programming that includes tailored options for memory care, and a genuine sense of belonging among residents. On‑site services—salon, podiatrist visits, fitness classes, spa room, and transportation—support an active lifestyle and are frequently cited as reasons families recommend the community.

Management and communication appear uneven. Some reviewers praise specific leaders and admissions staff for informative tours, clear billing models, and responsive problem resolution. At the same time, others describe management turnover, indecisive policy changes, inconsistent communication about pricing and program changes, and onboarding or scheduling issues. Safety and environmental oversight was also noted as an area for improvement in a handful of accounts (examples included unsecured equipment or unfinished repairs). Accessibility issues—cupboard heights, low toilets, stiff doors, or long walks from some apartments to dining—were raised as design concerns for some residents.

Overall impression: Talamore offers a strong social program, attractive new facilities, and many families experience compassionate staff and an active community. However, reviewers consistently recommend prospective residents and families verify operational details in person—particularly clinical staffing ratios and availability, dining operations and nutrition policies, housekeeping schedules and quality controls, pricing transparency, and apartment accessibility—before committing. Asking for current staffing rosters, sample menus, housekeeping checklists, and written policies about clinical coverage and medication procedures can help determine whether the community’s strengths align with an individual resident’s clinical and lifestyle needs.

About Talamore Senior Living Sun Prairie

Talamore Senior Living Sun Prairie sits in a four-story building and offers a range of care options, so residents can find independent living, assisted living, memory care, enhanced care, and even access to skilled nursing if they need it later on. The community feels welcoming, with staff known for being kind and friendly, always focused on treating residents with dignity and respect, and there's a strong sense of connection among people who live there so you can count on plenty of opportunities to make friends or join a group activity. The location features a library where you can read a good book, an exercise room if you like to stay active, and a salon for haircuts and grooming. Residents use new, modern apartments, and every unit has its own kitchen, living area, and in-unit washer and dryer, which helps make daily life comfortable and private, and the wireless internet in common areas works well if you want to stay in touch with family online.

For meals, the state-of-the-art dining room and a casual Bistro serve nutritious food throughout the day; there's a focus on quality ingredients so eating's both healthy and enjoyable. You'll see a daily activities calendar with exercise classes, card games, puzzles, bingo, backyard barbecues, scheduled outings, and regular social events, so every day can hold something different if you want to join in, and there's a library and hobby rooms too for quieter moments or shared interests. The pet-friendly approach means some residents can have animals for company, and things like handicap access and scheduled bus service help everyone get around more easily. Amenities and services, including AC, heat, electric, water, sewer, DirectTV, and Wi-Fi, come bundled with your home, so you don't have to worry about multiple bills in the mail, and there's a daily "I'm OK" check that helps staff keep track of everyone's safety. In assisted living and memory care, trained staff help with personal needs like bathing, dressing, medications, or just companionship, which is useful for anyone needing steady support, especially those with Alzheimer's or dementia. The memory care area's designed to prevent wandering and confusion, plus there's a special visiting area for residents in this program.

Floor plans include comfy one-bedrooms and there's a choice between having more or less independence, depending on how much help you want with chores or daily tasks, so some residents live much like they always have while others get more hands-on care. Engaging experiences, like group fitness, religious services for all faiths, and social programming, aim to keep people active and involved, and there's a steady focus on forming meaningful relationships among residents, which helps with emotional well-being. Staff is described by many as helpful and joyful, and the tight-knit community allows residents to connect easily with both staff and neighbors. The place earned the Best of Senior Living All Star Award and the Best of Senior Living Award thanks to strong reviews from both residents and families, which shows a good track record, and the facility is part of a continuing care community, so care plans can adapt as residents' health needs change. Housekeeping services, yard work, and most daily chores are handled by the staff, so residents spend more time enjoying hobbies or social events. For people who just want everything to be easy and have everything on one campus, Talamore Senior Living Sun Prairie offers a safe, modern setup with plenty of thoughtful touches to make life simpler and more comfortable for older adults.
