Affinity at Arlington opened in the fall of 2020 and serves independent adults aged 62 and older who want an active lifestyle, and it's known for a social environment where neighbors get together often, so folks can meet up in places like Dilly Dally's Pub, play cards or billiards, catch a movie at the on-site theater, or take part in all sorts of activities like fitness classes, Aqua Zumba, poker nights, board games, and craft workshops, since the calendars stay pretty full here, and there are always chances to join clubs and go to social gatherings, which helps everyone feel connected. The community offers spacious apartments built for comfort, and all rates include cable, Wi-Fi, and utilities, which makes budgeting easier. When it comes to amenities, there's a heated indoor saltwater pool, a hot tub, a fitness center, a crafts studio, a dog park and a dog wash spa for pet owners, outdoor barbecue areas for cookouts, and community gardens if you like to grow things, plus there's a workshop, game rooms, internet café, and outdoor seating that changes with the seasons, which all let people find their own spots to relax or visit. Safety and security get special attention at Affinity at Arlington, and staff work to keep the property well-maintained, while its location makes it easy for residents to get to grocery stores, restaurants, and major roads nearby, so running errands isn't a hassle. The place isn't a care facility, so it's best for seniors who don't need much day-to-day help, though it's well-suited for folks looking for a community where active living and making friends are a big deal.
Gorgeous complex with extensive amenities
I toured this brand-new, gorgeous senior living complex and was impressed by the very clean, nicely appointed one- and two-bedroom units, well-kept grounds, good parking/garage and a presentable entrance. It's loaded with amenities - coffee room/pub, library, movie theater, pool, gym, arts & crafts/craft room, billiards/card room and outdoor courtyard/barbecue - and the staff/director are friendly, respectful, knowledgeable and responsive (they even offered a rent promotion). There's no on-site dining (independent living only) and an assisted-living building is being constructed next door, so I'd recommend it only if you don't need meals or immediate assisted care.
