    Feel respected in beautiful facility

I feel like a person here - the facility is beautiful, spotless and luxurious, with all-private rooms and a lovely bistro. The staff are friendly and attentive: a caring, competent doctor, outstanding nurses, dedicated speech therapist Jamie and excellent PT/OT provided personalized plans and consistent progress; the kitchen even addressed an issue immediately. Overall a very strong experience - I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

This collection of reviews describes a facility with a strong physical plant and substantial rehabilitative capability but uneven operational performance. Many families praised the facility's modern, hotel-like environment, the availability of comprehensive therapy services (physical, occupational, and speech), private rooms, and on-site dining/cafe amenities. Several accounts specifically highlighted skilled therapists and individualized therapy plans that produced measurable progress for some residents.

Despite those positives, a recurring theme across reviews is inconsistent day-to-day clinical care. Multiple narratives describe prolonged delays in medication administration, missed or late treatments, and lapses in wound and ostomy-care processes. These issues have been associated with additional medical attention or hospital readmission in some cases. Reviewers also raised concerns about inconsistent bathing and incontinence-care schedules, as well as shortages of linens and personal suppliesโ€”operational weaknesses that affect residents' hygiene and comfort.

Staffing and responsiveness are central concerns. Many families reported long call-bell response times, apparent understaffing on shifts, and variability in staff conduct and attentiveness. While some aides and nurses received praise for compassionate, attentive care, other accounts describe rudeness, limited bedside assistance, and staff who were difficult to reach or slow to respond. These contrasts suggest pockets of strong staff performance that may be undermined by staffing levels or supervisory inconsistency.

Therapy services are a mixed picture: the facility offers robust rehabilitative programs and some therapists are described as excellent and proactive, but reviewers also described missed therapy sessions, last-minute cancellations, and an uneven approach to scheduling that reduced continuity for some residents. Dining and nutrition present similar variabilityโ€”some reviewers found the food reasonable and appreciated on-site options, while others described cold or unappealing meals and inconsistent attention to therapeutic diet requirements.

Housekeeping, amenities, and administration show a split between appearance and operations. The building and communal areas are often described as attractive and modern, yet several reviewers reported cleanliness issues in particular areas, delayed laundry or missing personal items, and lapses in equipment maintenance. Administrative communication and discharge planning are frequently singled out as weaknesses: families reported inadequate or incorrect discharge paperwork, missing follow-up appointments or provider names, and poor phone/front-desk responsiveness. A subset of comments raised serious concerns about incident escalation and family notification, including end-of-life care concerns and unsatisfactory responses following adverse events.

Overall pattern: the facility appears capable of high-quality rehabilitation and presents well architecturally, but operational shortfallsโ€”especially staffing, medication and wound-care processes, communication, and certain housekeeping functionsโ€”create significant variability in resident experience. Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong therapy resources and attractive environment against recurring reports of inconsistent clinical care and administrative follow-through. When evaluating the facility, consider asking for current staffing ratios by shift, documentation of medication- and wound-care protocols, examples of recent discharge summaries, and direct observation of mealtimes and therapy sessions to assess consistency in the areas most frequently cited in these reviews.

    About ProMedica Voorhees East

ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Voorhees East) sits in Voorhees, New Jersey, and runs as part of the Autumn Lake Healthcare network and the ProMedica health system. The facility has room for 21 residents and takes care of people who need skilled nursing or rehabilitation after illness, surgery, or hospital stays, and you'll see they have both short-term and long-term care options, which is pretty useful. The staff-physicians, nurses, and therapists-work around the clock and keep the focus on medical support and comfort. They use hands-on therapy, and there's a state-of-the-art gym with updated equipment, which means residents get personalized recovery plans that adjust as people heal, trying to help folks get stronger and gain back independence. If someone needs help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, or moving around, staff gives assistance round the clock, and they keep a 24-hour call system in place for safety.

The building itself feels inviting without being fancy. People get comfortable, furnished rooms with Wi-Fi and cable TV if they want it. They prepare meals for everybody and take care of special diets, including diabetes-friendly options. Residents can join scheduled daily activities, and there's a lively spirit-movie nights, art rooms, and even a barber or salon. The garden and walking paths give people places to walk or relax outdoors, and the main dining room lets folks eat together. Transportation gets arranged for doctor visits and other medical appointments, which takes a load off residents and families.

ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation (Voorhees East) accepts residents with serious or complex care needs and coordinates with outside healthcare providers for full support, so people with tough conditions can get the attention they need. The staff use evidence-based practices and have specialty programs for each person-some even get the ProMedica Total Rehab+ program. Memory Care is available at nearby facilities in the same network, so families looking for dementia care might find options close by. The place offers short-term respite stays, so caregivers can take a break, and the subacute care unit on South Route 73 is for people who need a higher level of medical monitoring for a while. They have mental wellness programs, medication management, and housekeeping, and they keep things lively with community-sponsored activities and opportunities for socializing.

The facility changed ownership in the last year but still stays focused on supporting residents and their families as partners in care. There's a sense of routine and normalcy, but staff also try to make things engaging and positive, and the main goal stays the same-helping every resident maintain as much strength, safety, and independence as possible.
