    Well-run facility with caring staff

I'm very satisfied with this clean, well-run facility - staff are friendly and treat residents like family. My mom received excellent care and rehab; nurses James and Kathy, PT Falyn, social worker Rhonda and director Ryan were all responsive and supportive. Meals and activities (singing, games, birthdays) are enjoyable, communication is prompt, and the grounds are pleasant. A solid choice in Temple; I'd recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Cornerstone Gardens presents a mixed but clear pattern: the building and common areas are frequently described as clean, attractively decorated, and well maintained, and several operational elementsโ€”housekeeping, laundry, activities, and on-site salon servicesโ€”are noted as strengths. Families and residents praise particular staff members and certain therapy encounters, and the facility offers private and semi-private room options along with an active activities calendar that includes games, singing and social events.

Clinical and daily-care quality appears inconsistent. Recurring themes include slow responses to call bells and assistance requests, delays in bathing and toileting assistance, and variability in medication administration and scheduling. Some reviewers describe therapy that met expectations, while others indicate the facility did not consistently deliver the advertised therapy frequency. Additionally, there are concerns about adherence to care plans and transfer/positioning protocols, which suggest gaps in clinical-adherence and safety practices that prospective family members should evaluate closely.

Staffing and workplace culture show divergence: several reviewers highlight caring, knowledgeable nurses, therapists and administrative leaders, but others describe rudeness, unresponsiveness, low morale, and turnover. These mixed accounts point to uneven staff conduct and training across shifts. Reviewers also referenced indications of regulatory or inspection issues and expressed a need for more focused staff education and supervision to improve consistency.

Dining and amenities are another area of contrast. Multiple accounts raise concerns about meal quality, temperature control and presentation; some families opted to supplement meals. In-room features such as television size and caption readability and the availability of bathing and mobility equipment were noted as limited in some rooms. Room sizes and layout are acceptable to some residents but two-person rooms may feel cramped.

Operational and management issues emerge from several comments: examples include unclear billing or private-room fee processes, delays in refund handling, and general operational disorganization affecting care coordination. Conversely, some reviewers singled out helpful social-work and administrative staff and a director who responded to issues, indicating pockets of effective management alongside areas needing improvement.

For prospective residents and families: visit at different times of day to assess staffing levels and call-bell response, request written details about therapy schedules and medication administration procedures, sample a meal, confirm availability of required mobility and bathing equipment, and review contract language and billing/refund policies. Asking for recent inspection results and the facilityโ€™s plan for staff training and turnover can help clarify whether the strengths you value are reliably delivered.
