    Compassionate staff, excellent memory care

I moved my mom here and I'm very pleased. The staff - especially nurses Sharon, Shirma and Angie - are compassionate, professional and go above and beyond; leadership is knowledgeable and responsive. The community is clean, home-like with strong memory care, onsite PT, engaging activities and restaurant-style dining; rooms are well-appointed and residents genuinely seem happy. I'd recommend touring it if you're looking for quality care and good value.

    Summary of reviews

The Landings of Canton Hills is a recently opened, well-appointed senior living community with many of the physical amenities people look for in a new campus. Reviewers consistently describe clean, modern interiors, a variety of apartment layouts, an enclosed courtyard and garden, and on-site amenities such as a movie theater, activity rooms, salon, and restaurant-style dining. Rehabilitation and therapy services on site, along with ancillary providers (dentist, podiatrist) and scheduled transportation for outings, are cited as strengths that support an active lifestyle and ease coordination of care.

Families and visitors frequently praised the staff for being friendly, caring, and professional. Several reviewers singled out individual staff and leadership members as particularly helpful, and the wellness/clinical team received positive comments for clinical responsiveness. That said, reviewers also identified persistent staffing challenges: turnover, weekend shortages, and uneven coverage that affect perceived consistency of care. Related concerns include gaps in responsiveness and monitoring during some resident interactions, as well as difficulty escalating issues to corporate when needed. These operational weaknesses appear to be tied in part to the site's newness and growth phase.

Dining and housekeeping evoke mixed feedback. The dining room and social dining experiences (including live music, snacks, and themed events) are appreciated, and some families described restaurant-style meals favorably. Other reviews note variable meal quality and occasional interruptions in meal service, particularly on weekends. Housekeeping is often described as thorough, with frequent trash removal for some residents, but there are also reports of inconsistent room-cleaning standards in certain instances.

Activity programming is a clear emphasis: reviewers described a broad schedule that includes devotional services, exercise classes, arts and crafts, bingo, movies, outings, patriotic and family events, and more. The community appears active and socially engaging for many residents. The memory-care unit is present and offers memory-focused activities, though several families felt that programming there was still maturing and could be more consistent as occupancy grows.

Management is in transition at this location; multiple comments referenced a new leadership team and ongoing improvements. Positive examples of responsive staff members and constructive engagement with families suggest the administration is addressing some issues, and several reviewers expressed optimism about staffing and program growth. Persistent operational themes to monitor are staffing stability, consistent housekeeping and meal-service reliability, access-control procedures, and formal escalation pathways to corporate oversight.

In summary, The Landings of Canton Hills presents as a modern, amenity-rich community with many strengths in environment, programming, and individual staff commitment. Prospective residents and families should weigh those advantages against current operational challenges typical of a new community—notably staffing variability, communication and escalation gaps, and some inconsistencies in dining and housekeeping—when making a placement decision. Visiting in person, speaking with multiple staff members, and asking about current staffing levels, security protocols, and memory-care programming plans will help clarify whether the site meets a family's specific priorities.

About The Landings of Canton Hills

The Landings of Canton Hills, licensed under ALC000175, offers assisted living, memory care, and respite care in a safe and welcoming setting where folks can get as much support as they need. The staff knows how to help people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and they're around 24/7 to help with medicine reminders, bathing, dressing, meals, and anything else that comes up. The building's got secure courtyards for wandering safely, along with wide hallways, walk-in closets, and bathrooms made for people with wheelchairs, plus big windows so there's plenty of light. There's a mix of studio and one-bedroom suites, all with carpeting and kitchenettes, which is nice for those who like their own snacks, and you can pick private or shared rooms, so there's some choice in living arrangements.

Residents get three home-cooked meals each day, and families can join them anytime-there's restaurant-style and private dining, so folks can eat together. The chef prepares meals that work with special diets, and there's always staff on hand for help. There's a focus on staying healthy, so people are encouraged to join in with tai chi, yoga, stretching, and exercise in a fitness center, which helps everyone keep moving. Other programs include gardening, arts and crafts, music, clubs like bridge, painting classes, and planned trips to nearby places. A dedicated Life Enrichment Coordinator schedules these, which keeps things organized and gives people something to do every day. Residents also enjoy amenities like a private spa, on-site salon and barber, library, TV lounge, theater room, cozy fireplaces, covered patio, and sitting areas.

Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services come standard, with transportation set up for errands or doctor appointments. There's also a system called the Smile™ Platform that makes it easy for families to communicate with staff. Folks living here can expect internet access, technology help, and a medical alert system for extra peace of mind. Nurses and doctors are on call, and the team creates personalized care plans for each senior, with all health and medicine needs managed by staff. Memory care has extra measures for safety and relies on daily engagement programs to help with wandering.

There are activities for almost any interest, like gardening or social groups, and everything's set up to give a sense of purpose and help people stay connected. The property feels bright and peaceful, with secure outdoor spaces to enjoy. The Landings of Canton Hills uses clear, all-inclusive pricing, so families know what to expect. The community's close to shops like Walgreens, Cracker Barrel, and Starbucks, and medical services like Northside Cherokee Imaging at Riverstone. The focus here is on personalized care, well-being, and creating a place where seniors can feel comfortable and live with dignity, independence, and company, with a dedicated staff always available to help.
