    Compassionate, professional care with dignity

I'm very pleased with this facility - the staff are loving, attentive and professional, and Executive Director Michael has clearly led a positive culture change. My loved one got timely meds, excellent PT/OT and compassionate 24/7 care in a clean, well-maintained place that respects residents' dignity (private rooms for all). The activities, meals and family-like atmosphere made the stay comfortable, and several team members went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this for rehab or long-term care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray a facility with strong rehabilitative services and an active social program, but persistent operational challenges that affect dayโ€‘toโ€‘day resident care. Physical and occupational therapy are repeatedly cited as high quality and a key strength for shortโ€‘term rehabilitation. At the same time, many families describe a bifurcated experience: compassionate direct caregivers and engaging activities coexist with systemic issues in nursing, housekeeping, and clinical oversight.

Care quality: Therapy services (PT/OT) are consistently praised for effectiveness and outcomes. However, ongoing concerns center on the routine nursing and personalโ€‘care components of service. Reviewers describe prolonged delays responding to call lights, inconsistent assistance with bathing and toileting, and lapses in routine hygiene checks. There are also documented gaps in wound care followโ€‘up and instances of residents returning to higherโ€‘acuity care after discharge. Medication administration and recordkeeping were noted as inconsistent in multiple accounts, with some families observing omissions or documentation delays; others reported improvements in medication timeliness under recent leadership.

Staff: Directโ€‘care aides and some nurses receive frequent positive mention for compassion and dedication; many reviewers singled out individual staff members and praised their responsiveness and warmth. Conversely, reviewers also reported variable conduct and communication tone among staff, including examples of dismissive interactions and unprofessional behavior. This variability appears correlated with staffing levels and shift coverage โ€” when staffing is thin, families report longer waits and more negative interactions.

Dining: The facility offers a varied menu with quarterly changes and several reviewers found meals tasty and diverse. Dietary staff are generally described as friendly. Counterbalancing this, other reviewers noted inconsistent meal temperature and occasional service errors or substitutions that did not match posted menus. Nutrition and diet management for specific medical needs (for example, diabetes) were mentioned as needing closer attention in some cases.

Activities and social life: Activity programming is a clear strength. Residents and families point to regular offerings such as bingo, bowling, crafts, nail care and social events that support engagement and peer relationships. Many reviewers emphasized that the activities department contributes positively to the residentsโ€™ quality of life and socialization.

Facilities and environment: The physical plant receives mixed feedback. Positive comments include private rooms with pleasant views, a wellโ€‘kept interior, and responsive maintenance. At the same time, there are repeated comments about temperature and ventilation problems in some rooms (hot, humid, or stuffy), sanitation and odor concerns in specific areas, and limited inโ€‘room bathing options. Housekeeping consistency was praised by some and criticized by others, suggesting variability across units or shifts.

Management and administration: Management impressions vary markedly. Several recent comments highlight an active executive director who has driven culture change, improved medication timeliness, and cultivated a more positive atmosphere. Other reviews criticize administrative responsiveness, slow followโ€‘up on family concerns, and a perception of prioritizing paperwork and payment over handsโ€‘on care. This mixed assessment suggests leadership improvements may be recent and unevenly implemented across the facility.

Notable patterns and guidance for families: The dominant themes are (1) excellent rehab/therapy services and an engaging activities program, and (2) operational weaknesses tied to staffing, callโ€‘response times, and dayโ€‘toโ€‘day nursing oversight. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facilityโ€™s strong therapy and social offerings against the risk of inconsistent personalโ€‘care support and documentation/medication practices. When considering placement, ask specific questions about current staffing ratios, callโ€‘light response metrics, infectionโ€‘control and sanitation audits, inโ€‘room bathing options, medicationโ€‘record audits, and recent management changes. Arranging a tour focusing on resident rooms, common areas, and staff interaction during a typical shift can help clarify whether the facilityโ€™s current operations meet your relative priorities for safety, dignity, and daily assistance.
