    Friendly attractive community excellent management

I found a true home here - staff are friendly, caring and professional, and management is excellent. The building and grounds are attractive with roomy living spaces, a nice garden, colorful signage, plus strong activities and kitchen/dining services. My family member lives here and I plan to apply when my CADI waiver is approved - a very good community.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Harmony View Assisted Living present a mixed picture: several families and residents express strong satisfaction with the community environment, staff, and grounds, while other accounts raise significant operational and safety concerns. Positive comments emphasize friendly, caring staff, engaged management, and comfortable, roomy living areas with on-site dining and attractive landscaping. Multiple reviewers described residents who are happy there and praised the overall community atmosphere.

Care and staffing assessments are polarized. Many reviewers praised individual caregivers and leadership for professionalism and responsiveness. However, there are recurring concerns about staff conduct and communication tone, along with indications of inconsistent staffing and training. These issues are tied to gaps in how the facility manages day-to-day resident interactions and family communication, which some families found unsatisfactory when seeking readmission or updates.

Medication and regulatory issues form a clear pattern of concern. Several accounts allege problems with medication handling, including improper administration and, in at least one allegation, medication-related theft. Reviewers also referenced past regulatory citations and fines; together these items suggest the need for strengthened medication controls, record-keeping, and compliance processes.

Programming and operations show strengths and weaknesses. The community offers on-site meals and has visible groundskeeping, but activity programming was described as limited by some families. Housekeeping and service consistency were also flagged as areas needing improvement. Facilities-wise, reviewers noted small private rooms for some units and accessibility limitations such as the absence of an elevator in parts of the building, alongside occasional odor concerns in common areas.

Management impressions are mixed: some reviewers praised management as responsive and supportive, while others pointed to ownership or administration inconsistencies affecting policies and communication. In sum, Harmony View appears to provide a positive social environment and dedicated staff in many instances, but the pattern of concerns around medication management, staff conduct, regulatory compliance, activity and housekeeping consistency, and certain facility limitations warrants careful inquiry by prospective residents and families. Recommended next steps for decision-makers include verifying current regulatory status, asking about recent staff training and turnover, reviewing medication-administration protocols, and touring living units and common areas to assess accessibility and sanitation firsthand.

    About Harmony View Assisted Living

Harmony View Assisted Living, formerly known as Wildwood, sits at 1420 2nd St North in Sauk Rapids, right next to the Bob Cross Nature Preserve and close to the Mississippi River, which makes things pretty peaceful around here, and it's easy for folks to get to shopping, churches, and medical services with quick access to US Hwy 10 and public transportation, so people can still get around when they want to. The building's got 27 studio apartments, some good for double occupancy and a special suite for respite or hospice stays, and all units can be reached pretty easily, even for people with mobility challenges, and they allow pets, which is a comfort to many. Residents choose among independent living, assisted living, enhanced assisted living, and secured memory care, so someone who's still pretty active and independent can have their own space while others can get a little more help if they need it, and there are specific programs for memory care, aimed at reducing confusion and helping keep folks who live with Alzheimer's or dementia secure and comfortable.

The place covers a wide range of daily care with help for bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and even two-person assists for transfers, along with help monitoring medication, insulin injections on a sliding scale, ostomy and catheter care, wound treatments, oxygen, and glucometer checks, so most folks' needs are accounted for, and there's round-the-clock staffing by people with experience in taking care of seniors. Meals are taken care of with three balanced options a day plus two snacks thrown in, while housekeeping and laundry get handled on a regular schedule, keeping things tidy for everybody. Social programs, activities, and resource information for both new and established residents are available, and you can see everything that's offered in an eBrochure or through a current price list; folks can also look at consumer disclosures like the Notice of Dementia Training Disclosure and Uniform Disclosure of Assisted Living Services and Amenities (UDALSA) for more details.

Harmony View Assisted Living welcomes private pay, MA Waivered Programs (BI, CADI, EW), and lets people sign up for a waiting list without any deposit or obligation, which gives some peace of mind to families considering options. The facility has features like 24-hour key fob entry, Wi-Fi, cable TV in rooms, free parking, and is handicap accessible, so it's convenient for different needs. On-site, people can get haircuts, use barber services, have labs and mobile X-rays, and see visiting providers for extra help, and there's transportation to appointments or shopping when needed. Regular physician visits, Covid-19 testing, and help from staff with health care questions make it possible for seniors to stay healthier and feel supported. Office hours run from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, and affordable rates make it a choice for many looking for help without needing nursing home care. The community is safe, quiet, and welcoming, and while the facility isn't BBB accredited, it holds an A+ BBB rating, and it operates under Minnesota's laws for assisted living. Admission does mean filling out some paperwork, like a Health Information Release Form and Application for Admission, but the process isn't complicated, and folks can get extra help reviewing long-term care options with the Senior Linkage Line if they want it.
