    Clean, caring staff; excellent amenities

I'm very pleased with Creekview - the facility is clean, well kept, and the staff are friendly, attentive and professional. The food is excellent, there are year-round activities and on-site amenities (therapy, salon, ice cream stand), and my loved one seems happy and well cared for.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews of St. John's Home present a mixed picture with clear strengths alongside recurring operational concerns. Positive feedback frequently highlights compassionate, personable caregivers, a strong therapy/rehab offering, and a welcoming community environment. The memory-care units and certain therapy teams receive consistent praise for attentive care and effective programming. Amenities such as a landscaped courtyard, on-site barber and shops, seasonal ice-cream service, and a wide range of social activities (music visits, exercise classes, clubs and events) contribute to quality-of-life for many residents. Several families reported timely medication administration and helpful transportation/appointment support.

However, a substantial portion of commentary identifies persistent operational weaknesses. Staffing variability — including heavy reliance on agency staff and noticeable shift-to-shift differences — is the most frequent theme and is linked to delays in responding to call bells, uneven personal-care delivery, and inconsistent supervision on some floors. Housekeeping and sanitation practices were described as inconsistent: while common areas and some units are maintained, others show lapses in room-level housekeeping and dining-area cleanliness. Reviewers also raised concerns about adherence to infection-control and clinical-hygiene protocols in certain instances.

Dining and nutrition feedback is mixed. Some reviewers reported good meal variety and helpful cafeteria options, while others described interrupted service, delayed or cold meals, and variability in food quality. The activities program is a clear strong point for many residents, but activity availability appears uneven across units and shifts. Memory care and some therapy programs were singled out positively for engagement and clinical effectiveness, whereas other clinical areas were described as having gaps in training and oversight.

Communication and management responsiveness are recurring issues. Families describe difficulty reaching leadership via phone, voicemail routing problems, delayed incident notifications, and inconsistent follow-up on concerns such as missing personal items. A few reviewers specifically raised serious allegations of missing funds and an inadequate investigative response. Safety patterns noted by families include delays in emergency response on specific occasions and concerns about transfer and fall-prevention practices; these descriptions suggest the value of confirming unit-level safety protocols during a tour.

In summary, St. John's Home offers several meaningful strengths — warm caregiving relationships, robust rehabilitation services, a broad activities calendar, and appealing common spaces and amenities. At the same time, there are consistent operational concerns around staffing consistency, frontline supervision, room-level housekeeping, infection-control adherence, meal-service reliability, and administrative communication. Prospective residents and families should consider an in-person visit focused on the specific unit of interest, inquire about current staffing ratios and agency-staff usage, review recent state and CMS inspection records, and ask for facility policies on incident reporting, pest control, and personal-property investigation before making placement decisions.
