      Small caring home, excellent staff

I placed my family member here and I'm very pleased. The small single-story home is clean, comfortable and family-like; the personable owner and caring, flexible staff keep great communication and a high staff-to-resident ratio. Meals are delicious, rooms are large with private baths, they can work with Medicaid later, and my relative and other residents are happy with their care. Staff even helped arrange a move to a smaller room when needed.

      Summary of reviews

Samarinia's Adult Family Home presents as a small, single-story residential care setting that emphasizes a family-style approach. Reviews consistently describe caring, personable staff and a management presence that is accessible and communicative, creating an environment where residents feel known and comfortable. The facility's size and layout support individualized attention; reviewers noted a high staff-to-resident ratio and continuity of caregivers, which families described as contributing to resident comfort and satisfaction. The home offers home-cooked meals that reviewers characterized as palatable, and basic housekeeping was described as clean and well-groomed.

Care quality appears oriented toward personalized, relational support, including end-of-life care capability. Staff are described as flexible and helpful, and management encourages questions and family involvement. These elements suggest strength in day-to-day assistance, personal care, and family communication. There is limited information about formal activity programming in the reviews; the small-house model implies activity offerings are likely individualized rather than large-group activities.

Facility and amenity notes are mixed. Positive attributes include private, large rooms with en-suite bathrooms for some residents, a comfortable interior, and a single-story layout that can be easier to navigate. However, reviewers also noted household-organization and clutter concerns in parts of the home, which may affect perceived upkeep and accessibility. Room options are constrained: double-occupancy capacity is limited and room reassignment or moves to smaller rooms have been mentioned, so prospective residents should confirm current room availability and size before committing.

Operationally, the most significant limitations concern clinical oversight and emergency response. The facility does not report on-site licensed nursing coverage; families should consider that licensed clinical visits are limited and that urgent clinical needs may require external emergency services. Ownership does not live on-site, which may reduce immediate managerial presence during off hours. Finally, a few families mentioned future plans to use Medicaid; prospective residents should verify the provider's current payer arrangements and obtain written confirmation of staffing, clinical oversight, emergency response procedures, and room-assignment policies before moving in.

      About Samarinia's Adult Family Home

Samarinia's Adult Family Home sits in a quiet South Hill neighborhood in Puyallup, WA, offering care for up to six people in a single-story house that feels just like home. The home has five bedrooms-two private and the rest shared-plus two living rooms and two bathrooms, so it doesn't feel crowded, and folks have space to relax. Residents get rooms with their own bathrooms and smoke alarms, and the home uses safety features like wheelchair-accessible showers, ramps, and full maintenance for peace of mind, and there's no smoking allowed anywhere inside.

A caring staff stays on-site round the clock, paying close attention to residents and making sure everyone's needs get met, from diabetic care and medication help to memory care, Alzheimer's aid, and support for those with disabilities, mental health needs, or advanced health conditions. The staff work hard and pay special attention to each person, handling everything from rides to appointments, dry cleaning, and visiting nurses, dentists, or a podiatrist if needed, and the families can visit every day between 9:00am and 8:00pm. Meals come well-prepared, tasty, and they serve them in the communal dining hall, or if someone prefers, there's the front porch where folks can have coffee, play cards, or chat, and a patio and fully-fenced backyard for summer barbecues and a bit of outside air.

Along with all the basics-housekeeping, laundry, upkeep, and maid service-Samarinia's lets residents bring their pets, like cats and dogs, which helps the place feel warmer and more like family. The home offers activities on-site, and sometimes groups go out for something special, and there are also devotional services held off-site for those who wish to take part. Therapy services can be brought in, covering physical, speech, and occupational therapy, and for those who need it, hospice and respite care are available, even for short stays.

The facility's set up for older adults who'd rather keep some independence but could use help with daily tasks or have special care needs. Staff talks with families often and tries hard to make sure everyone feels heard and cared for. Samarinia's Adult Family Home allows folks to age comfortably, with attention, meals, and a bit of company, surrounded by local shops, grocery stores, and services just nearby. Floor plans and payment options are available if you ask, and the staff works with families to find the best fit.
