    Beautiful facility, caring staff, recommended

I placed my mom at Genesis Healthcare of Greenville and had a very positive experience. The facility and grounds are beautiful and spotless - lovely courtyard and lake-view dining - and common spaces feel welcoming. Staff across administration, nursing, CNAs (Robert stood out), therapy (Tara, David, Liz) and housekeeping were caring, professional, and helpful; Nicole made admissions paperwork easy. Rehab/PT was effective, meals were hot and tasty, and activities/family-like atmosphere made it feel like a home away from home. I'm grateful to the team and would recommend this center.

    Summary of reviews

Greenville Center elicits strongly mixed impressions. Many families and residents praise the facility’s rehabilitative services, campus and social environment: therapy staff and rehabilitation programs are repeatedly credited with measurable progress toward discharge goals, and several accounts describe friendly, attentive nurses and CNAs who contribute to a family-like atmosphere. The campus is frequently described as attractive and well maintained, with lake views, a large courtyard, a coffee café and separate dining rooms that residents and visitors appreciate. Specialized services including dementia care and hospice are offered, and administrative staff and admissions personnel are often noted as helpful with paperwork and transitions.

At the same time, a number of substantive operational concerns appear across the feedback. The most consistent themes relate to uneven direct-care quality and responsiveness — families report variable timeliness and attentiveness from staff, and a small but consequential set of accounts raise concerns about medication management and clinical oversight. Communication with families is another repeated issue: missed or canceled appointments without notice, unanswered calls, and intermittent phone or internal communication outages have caused distress and required families to make unplanned visits to check on residents.

Dining and activities are described with both praise and criticism. Several reviews compliment the dining spaces, portions, and certain meals, while others describe inconsistent food quality and limited programming in particular units. The activities calendar, seasonal events, and community visits (for example, church choir visits) are seen as positives where they are active, but programming appears to vary by unit and stay type.

Facility- and safety-related issues are also mentioned in multiple comments. While many visitors find rooms and public areas clean and attractive, other accounts describe sanitation and odor concerns in select areas, environmental maintenance problems (including heating/air-conditioning and electrical outlet issues), and safety hazards that require remediation. These operational items — when combined with alleged gaps in incident documentation and follow-up — contribute to family frustration about oversight and risk management.

Management and leadership perception is mixed. Several reviewers praise specific managers and front-desk staff for helpfulness and efficient admissions; others express frustration with perceived leadership inaction when staff-conduct or service gaps are raised. That combination suggests relatively strong frontline caregiving and therapy capabilities paired with inconsistent administrative follow-through on complaints, staffing allocation, and systems (phone, room assignment, documentation).

For prospective residents and families: Greenville Center offers a well-appointed campus, strong rehabilitative services, and many dedicated caregivers. Those strengths are tempered by variability in direct-care consistency, communication systems, and certain environmental/safety controls. Visitors considering this facility should tour the specific unit under consideration, ask about private-room availability and roommate-placement policy, inquire about medication oversight and incident-reporting protocols, and confirm contingency plans for communication outages and environmental maintenance.
